Understanding Autism Spectrum Disorder

The Autism spectrum disorder may look entirely different to people, and it’s always a developmental disability. The disability is known to affect ways of communication, behaving, and also interacting with other people. But ASD does not have any cause, and the symptoms may vary from being severe to mild. Some of the children who suffer from spectrum usually start showing their signs when very young actually few months old. Others may seem to be developing standard within the first few years and later begin showing the signs. However, most parents start noticing the symptoms once the child reaches 12 months and the 90% of the symptoms erupt after reaching two years. Social Skills

  • Having difficulty with pronouns (saying of “you” instead of saying “I”)
  • Not using the familiar gestures like waving and pointing

  • Being unable to recognise a joke or sarcasm
